Over the course of one evening, Mia, a 23-year-old artist, grows closer to a young man, only to be rejected. This encounter prompts her to reflect on her relationship with sex and love. The story portrays not only this moment, but also her exploration of the subject through conversations with friends and introspection. In the process, she discovers that she is asexual and aromantic. This graphic novel moves between an informative approach and a personal life story. It is accessible to a wide audience, though aimed particularly at teenagers and young adults. The first goal of this project was to give more visibility to the subjects of asexuality and aromanticism. The second was to challenge myself by creating a clean, readable comic entirely in graphite pencil. Finally, as an autofiction, the story arises from my own questioning of my relationship to sexuality. Each comic project I undertake is also a way for me to grow and better understand myself.
