A series of A4 color pencil drawings created during the Caran d’Ache workshop led by Paul Lannes at HEAD Geneva. The assignment was to design landscapes using colored pencils. I chose to reinterpret Grand Canyon formations by integrating water into the dry environment, contrasting aridity and fluidity. Through color and texture, I wanted to show how seemingly opposing elements can become harmonious, depending on their composition. The ambiguity of scale (whether monumental or microscopic) encourages viewers to question representation. These canyon fragments evoke something organic, almost like skin, while the water recalls the liquids flowing through our bodies. I enjoy playing with this ambiguity of perception.
